How to Fish
The secret to Husky Jerk success is to crank, stop, crank and take advantage of the neutrally buoyant suspending action this lure is known for. The advantage of the long stops comes most apparent in cold water situations, since the retrieve can be stalled for long periods of time to waken even the slowest fish.
Use a slow stop and go retrieve in cold water and a more aggressive jerk and pause or twitch and pause retrieve in warmer water, when the fish are more active. Remember that even in warm water most predators hit the lure when the retrieve is paused even for a very short time.
To alter the lures swimming depth, keep the rod tip high and twitch upwards for a shallow presentation, or down to allow the lure to run deeper.
The Classics

Carrying on a tradition that started in 1936, the original “wounded minnow” action is what has made Rapala “The world’s most trusted lure.” Premium Balsa gives them their responsive, life-like action, while the craftsmanship and dedication to excellence makes sure that each and every lure swims like the first.
Classic lures embody the same individuality that Lauri Rapala was hand carving from wood those many years ago. With every Classic lure purchased, you really are buying a part of Rapala history.
Before leaving the factory, each is inspected, hand-tuned and tank-tested for the superior quality these lures are known for. That’s why no matter where you go in the world, big fish eat little fish that swim like a Rapala.
